Shout out to Hector!

I recently was emailing back and forth with Hector's family, and am happy to report that Hector had surgery for his palette and nostrils, and is recovering nicely. His vet told the family that if they limit his exercise (he has the small trachea issue that Stella has), he should live a long and happy life!

  1. Our sweet little bulldog Buster "Mr. B" a 2 year old male has pneumonia and is spending the night at the vet. I am going over in the morning to see him. I am convinced I tipped him over into this by smoking cigars. That is OVER if he gets well. :(

  2. I hope Mr. B gets better! I definitely think smoke can aggravate their breathing issues, so quitting the indoor smoking is a good idea. Heck, just quit all of it - your bully should help you appreciate just how great breathing easy is, and how bad breathing issues can make everyone feel. Stella definitely inspired me to quit!

  3. I just talked to the vet. His fever is down and he is eating. I am going to pick him up after his breathing treatment. They say he needs the treatment once a day at their office for a week or two. Fine with me...what ever works! Thank you very much for your blog!

  4. Hi John,

Yes - Stella needed the same thing, but they helped her get better quickly, and she seemed to enjoy them. When she gets bad these days, we give her a steam treatment in the bathroom, along with lemons, and that often helps, if it's not gotten so bad as to require a trip to the vet. Glad your dog's fever is down and he is eating - that is GREAT news!
